Author: Giovanni Antonio Pellegrini
DATE: 1730 POSITION: first altar on the right MEASUREMENTS: 240 x 116 cm METHOD: oil painting
The first altar on the right, commissioned in by Giuseppe Motta to the stone mason, Iseppo Corner in 1726, was later entrusted to the SS. Trinity Confraternity, who commissioned Pelligrini to execute the altarpiece.
The described picture is quite simple and linear: the imposing figure of Saint Joseph points out the high heavens to Saint Francis of Paola, in mystical manner; at the top: the Eternal Father, Jesus in Glory to his right, and the Dove of the Holy Spirit complete the scene.
