Jacopo Marcello was the captain general of the Venetian fleet and lost his life while seizing Gallipoli. The statue of the captain in the armor is placed over the elegant floral urn and is flanked by two small angels or putti holding the family's coats of arms. The urn is supported by three telamons and inserted into an oval shaped piece of marble. On the outer frame there are painted pictures of helmets, breastplates and cornucopias that wind througout.
